Friendship Day
It is Friendship Day today.
Frankly speaking I have never understood the concept of days. Isn't it strange that you are allowed to forget your friends for the rest of the year only to remember them for that one day coz everyone says its friendship day.
Don't take me wrong here. I am not against the celebration of such a day - atleast people whom u think have long forgotten you send some mushy messages atleast.
But isn't friendship such a cherished possession that it should be remembered every time. I know the role played by good friends in my life. With them I can forget all the tension of the world and just talk about trivial things. They are like my stress busters. You can turn to them anytime you want. And I am happy to have many such friends in my life.
But one thing I am poor at is continuing long distance friendships. As hard as I try, I often lose contact with my old friends as new friends come into my life. The regular contact needed to maintain such relationships sometimes is missing. One of the reasons maybe that I try to make as many friends as possible instead of sticking with a particular group: The kind of group you see in sitcoms - Always hanging out with each other with literally no one else in their lives.
Now I dont want to venture into too much of serious talk. My last 2-3 blogs have shown a serious side of mine, which I have never expressed before. Am really enjoying blogging.
