Back to business

I keep hearing from my blogger friends about the phenomenon called " Writer's block". I looked up the word in our own very own weeekeeepedia..
It says "Writer's block is a phenomenon involving temporary loss of ability to begin or continue writing, usually due to lack of inspiration or creativity."

I said, thank god for that.. Neither do I have an inch of creativity nor do I need any inspiration to write. So I need not fear about this "Writer's block" thingy. But of late, I have been encountering something similar. So, have I become creative suddenly??? Naaah. This writer's block was due to a different reason - lack of time..

The last week or so, has been very hectic. Our batch had summer internship interviews. So everyday we had to be ready in our peter england, blackberry, raymond suits and go for interviews.. I wore a suit for a whole day the first time in my life and I couldn't help wondering how James Bond managed to remain in one every time. The thing is uncomfortable like hell.. especially when the "Surya Devta" is at his peak.

And the other funny part of these interviews is the forms companies make us fill. Some of the common questions:

= Describe a situation when you showed true leadership skills.
- Yeah, I remember. The time when I lead the whole class to bunk the maths lecture.

= Describe a situation when you approached a problem with a non-traditional approach
- once in the canteen when my friend ordered noodles, and about 5 of us were planning to eat from the same plate, I used my hands to eat the noodles. Therefore I could eat more than my friends who used forks.

= Describe a situation when you solved a problem even with scarcity of resources.
- Me and 4 of my friends had brought a bottle of vodka. 3 friends backed out at the last moment. This scarcity of resources did not bother me and my remaining friend and we finished the bottle before time.

= Why do you want to join this company
- because you offer a fat salary.. period..

But instead we have to write such flowery phrases like self actualization, analytical attitude and goal orientation etc... And the good part is that the company also knows that we are lying. So does the company select us on the basis of our ability to lie??
I know there would be some people who would have figured out all these answers sincerely, but what about the rest??

By the way the company which had the fortune of selecting me was "TATA MOTORS". Guess they have recruited another problem equal in magnitude to Mamta Bannerjee. So presently I am in a state of euphoria, wanted to share it with you all..

Am back to my movie watching ways.. Had organised the "Maha Movie Festival" yesterday in my room, in order to compensate for the time which I had lost during the past 2-3 weeks. The festival had entries from mainly Hollywood. I was planning to include a story in this post, but am still penning my thoughts down.

But as for now am back to business.

Till Next Time

Congrats first. You are abroad the right guys, I guess.

Two: Writer's block, I haven't felt any such thing so far in my life. Perhaps it only happens to a few. It is a just a gap in self-belief, at best, I feel. And don't worry, reading you, I reckon it won't visit you. Cheers!
