Wait list

Odd time to write a new post. But an event that happened today gave me the MASALA to write this post. As you know I am preparing for mba, and have appeared for many exams. Got about 14 calls. Now dont go OOOOhhh!!! For me it is a simple case of probability and keeping my options open. Are Yaar 14 mai se ek to convert ho hi jaayega.
So, today I got the result of the 4th college to which i applied. Till now it has been mixed luck. 2 rejections and 2 long waitlists. No converts yet. Hope the next few colleges bring some better good news.
WAITLIST: Where all do we find a waitlist? I could easily come up with some examples
= railway reservations
= mba college admissions
= ration shops etc.

Well what exactly is a waitlist?? Well it is a tool created by some good soul for people like me who most of the time are late, unlucky or sometimes unprepared, to move ahead and have a chance at the actual thing.
Comparing the waitlist of railway reservation and mba colleges i found some similarities.
= TATKAL in railways corresponds to management quota in mba colleges
= RAC in railways corresponds to W/L 1-2 in mba colleges. etc.

Maybe I should have got the cue in the colleges where i was waitlisted. To travel for their gd-pi i had booked my ticket through TATKAAL....

A BLOG.

Well this is my first attempt at the world of blogging, so forgive me for any mistakes. Well I thought about starting this blog, with what exactly a blog is. I had my faithful friend google and it came with the answers straightaway.

A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts.
As of December 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 112 million blogs

Other definitions, I found of a blog were,

A weblog is a hierarchy of text, images, media objects and data, arranged chronologically, that can be viewed in an HTML browser
