Creative Nonsense

I know I am no poet,
I dont even know, what the heck is a Sonnet!

I thought I would write something philosophical,
But then I realised something magical:
My capability of thought - minimal,
Prevents me from writing anything sensible.

So, O buddies, forgive my incompetence
You have no choice but to suffer this nonsense.

This poem got no rhyme, no reason,
Tan-Tanaa-Tan, Tan-Tanaa-Tan.

You would be wondering, which will be the first meaningful line,
O, don't worry, this poem is written just to waste your time.

Last night, I had a dream so grand,
I dreamt, I was Spiderman.

Based in India, I was so ineffective,
Without any buildings to swing, I was growing restive;

My suit was too sweaty, too tight,
Mary Jane had left me after a bitter fight;

My load had increased during recession
As people were robbing more due to depression.

I was hardly popular, felt like a ghost,
My blog had only 3-4 comments per post.

Then Danny Boyle made "Slumdog Spiderman",
And I was the toast of Oscars, China & Japan.

U see, Even in my dreams any meaning, I don't bind,
Incoherent Ramblings of a Confused Mind.

Billu Barber.... sorry Billu

It is one of those moments, when I feel proud to be a citizen of a free, democratic country like India, where one can voice his protest and it will be heard...

The latest victory of democracy, when the "Mumbai Hairstylists Association" protested against the title of the forthcoming movie "Billu Barber".. I mean, who in their right minds would put such a demeaning word as "Barber" in the title of a movie.. The movie will be watched by millions, who will also call them Barbers, when in fact they are hairstylists.. At last Shahrukh had to change the name of the movie to "Billu"... At last justice was done to the millions of "hairstylists" throughout the small villages of India, who struggle to meet ends daily and live in poverty.. now at least they will be given a proper designation.

The Bollywood Industry has a history of coming up with such demeaning titles for their movies.. Wonder to what levels can they stoop in the name of creative freedom.. As a responsible citizen, I have come up with some examples of past and future movies, which our custodians of fair naming can target..

AA DEKHEIN ZARA - The Blind people's association of India should protest against this.. The title itself is a taunt to those who cannot see.. like mocking them

SORRY BHAI, PYAR KE SIDE EFFECTS - The national Hindi Council - as Bollywood is degrading the quality of Hindi through their films

HERA PHERI - For promoting illegal activities through its titles

KRRAZZY 4 - Should have sued the producers.. Would have taught people like Rakesh Roshan, Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor that there are other letters too besides K in the english language..

RAM GOPAL VERMA KI AAG - This should have been on the top of the list, simply to protest against the torture that the director put the viewers to.. Misleading people through titles...

and the list goes on...

I am sure with the initiative that the "Mumbai Hairstylist Association" has taken, film-makers will think twice before putting anything on Paper... We can't let them have their way..

By the way, Happy Valentine's day to all those lovebirds out there, who have been stuck by cupid.. May the arrow of cupid be stuck there on you for the rest of your lives.. For others like me, the day is just "Vella - time" day..

I recently came across an observation... Our very own hero Shahrukh Khan advocating against marriage through his films.. how??

First he stars in a film called "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge".

Then realisation dawns and he stars in an aptly titled film "Dil to Pagal Hai".

It couldn't be more direct... No wonder the Mumbai Hairstylist Association is protesting against the title of Shahrukh's movie... His movies carry a lot of hidden meaning in their titles..

Stick-it-to-da-man-neiosis

Those of you wondering what the blog title stands for, watch "School of rock" starring Jack Black.. A wonderful movie, which has initiated me into rock and made me understand its significance...

Rock is all about "Stick-it-to-da-man-neiosis", literally translated - it means, revolt against the man - the established order and everything that is against your principles... Rock artists do that by writing songs about any darn thing they feel is not right..

I have recently acquired a collection of the 100 greatest rock songs and I keep on hearing them, esp. Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" and eagles "Hotel california". Indians, fed on a regular dose of rhythmic Bollywood music may feel out of place hearing Rock as most Rock Songs have no set rhythm.. Guess it takes many hearings to really sink into a rock song..

Talking about the attitude of "Stick-it-to-da-man-neosis", I feel that I haven't been that much of a rebel my life, always following the set standards. For a change would like to Stick-it-to-da-man sometimes, try something new??

To my few readers, any time you can remember when you rebelled and had that awesome satisfaction..
